How to Request a File Restore

Use this guide when files were deleted, changed, or lost and you need OpenTech to help restore them from backup.

Act quickly
The sooner a restore request is submitted, the easier it is to identify the correct restore point and reduce data loss.

Details to include

  • File name or folder name
  • Where the data was stored
  • Approximate time the file was last known to be correct
  • Whether the file was deleted, changed, or overwritten
  • Whether one file or many files are affected

What to do next

  1. Stop editing related files if possible.
  2. Do not move or rename affected folders unless necessary.
  3. Create a ticket with the restore details.
  4. Wait for OpenTech to confirm restore scope and timing.
