How to Start a Remote Support Session

Use this guide when an OpenTech technician asks you to begin a live remote support session.

Only start a session when instructed
Open a remote session only when you are working with OpenTech or responding to a confirmed support request.

Steps to begin

  1. Open the official OpenTech remote support page.
  2. Follow the technician’s instructions for the support tool or session code.
  3. Accept the connection request only after you confirm you are speaking with OpenTech.
  4. Stay at your device unless the technician tells you it is safe to step away.

Before connecting

  • Save open work
  • Close sensitive personal apps not related to the issue
  • Make sure you have a stable internet connection
  • Keep your phone or email available in case the session drops
